Since launching in December 2017, StreetVet Bristol has gone from strength to strength. We began as a small committee of 4 vets and 1 vet nurse, and our team numbers have grown steadily, as the veterinary community in Bristol has responded enthusiastically to the call for volunteers.

We first began outreaching by walking the streets of Bristol every Saturday with a backpack of medication and a trolley full of blankets, coats, toys and food. We now outreach twice a month and have over 80 registered patients.

We outreach alongside a group called Bristol Churches Together, who organise a soup run in St James Park and we also work in association with Roots in another location.

We would like to thank all the veterinary practices who have donated procedures pro bono, discounted services or who generously offered us their support. Bristol Animal Rescue Centre look after any patients that need emergency treatment during the day. VetsNow provide our emergency out of hours cover. A number of local practices have also been very supportive in a variety of ways – with charity collections, donations, doing discounted routine procedures for us and of course offering new volunteers to swell our ranks!

None of what we have achieved so far would have been possible without the generosity of the public and StreetVet’s supporters.
